Welcome to Birthday Button!
Birthday Button LLC (“Birthday Button,” “we,” “us,” or “our”) operates a birthday-centered social networking platform that brings people together through shared birthdays, meaningful connections, and celebrations.
Our services include the Birthday Button website, mobile application, and related features (collectively, the “Services”).
This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect, how we use and share it, what information other members may see, and the privacy rights and choices available to you.
Birthday Button is available worldwide and is intended for individuals aged 16 and older.
2. Information We Collect
We collect information that you provide directly, information generated through your use of Birthday Button, and certain technical information necessary to operate our Services.
Account and Profile Information
When registering for Birthday Button, you manually provide information that may include:
- Name and username
- Email address and password
- Date of birth
- Profile photograph
- City, state, and country
- Other optional profile details
Birthday Button requires email verification during registration. We use this process to help verify account ownership and protect accounts.
We do not currently offer registration or login through Google, Apple, or other third-party social accounts.
Birthday and Relationship Information
Members may save birthdays belonging to friends, family members, and other individuals aged 16 or older, including people who do not have Birthday Button accounts.
This information may include names, dates of birth, relationships, and other details entered by the member.
The application automatically checks the age calculated from the entered date of birth and prevents members from adding individuals whose entered birthdate indicates they are under 16.
Social and Communication Information
We process information associated with your activity on Birthday Button, including:
- Birthday Twin matches and discovery results
- Friend connections and saved birthdays
- Birthday wishes
- Direct messages and group conversations
- Photographs and other uploaded images
- Birthday events and participation
- Reports submitted about accounts or content
Technical Information
When you use our Services, certain technical information may be processed, including IP addresses, device information, operating systems, application versions, usage activity, diagnostic information, and information necessary for authentication and security.
3. How We Use Your Information
Birthday Button uses personal information to:
- Create, verify, and maintain member accounts.
- Identify Birthday Twins and support birthday-based discovery.
- Save birthdays and deliver reminders.
- Enable friendships, birthday wishes, and communication.
- Provide direct messaging and group conversations.
- Support birthday event creation and discovery.
- Display birthday-related facts and statistics.
- Personalize the member experience.
- Send notifications and account communications.
- Investigate reports and maintain community safety.
- Monitor application performance and resolve technical issues.
- Protect the Services against misuse, fraud, and unauthorized access.
- Comply with applicable legal obligations.
Where applicable law requires a particular legal basis for processing personal information, we will rely on an appropriate basis, which may include providing requested services, legitimate interests, consent, or compliance with legal obligations.
4. Profile Privacy and Birthday Visibility
Birthday Button provides members with separate controls for profile privacy and birthday visibility.
Public and Private Profiles
Members can select a public or private profile.
A public profile allows other members to view information made available through the platform, subject to the member's individual privacy settings.
A private profile restricts access to certain profile details but does not make the member undiscoverable.
Private profiles may still appear in Birthday Twin discovery results.
Birthday Visibility
Members can choose whether other users see their full birthdate, including their birth year, or only their birth month and day.
Birthday Button may continue to process a member's complete birthdate internally for age eligibility, birthday matching, and platform functionality, regardless of public visibility preferences.
Members can change these settings through their account preferences.
5. Birthday Twin Discovery
Birthday Twin discovery is a central feature of Birthday Button.
Members may be discovered based on birthday information and other details provided during registration or profile setup, even when their profiles are private.
Birthday Button does not currently offer a separate option to opt out of Birthday Twin discovery while maintaining an active account.
Privacy settings determine which information other members can view; they do not disable birthday matching.
6. Information About People Who Are Not Members
Birthday Button allows registered members to save birthdays for individuals who do not have Birthday Button accounts.
The names and birthdays of these individuals may appear in Birthday Twin discovery results visible to other registered members.
A person appearing in these results has not necessarily registered for Birthday Button or agreed to participate in the platform.
Birthday Button does not permit individuals under 16 to be added to saved birthday lists. The application checks eligibility based on the date of birth entered by the member.
If your information has been added by someone else, you may contact support@birthdaybutton.com to request access, correction, or removal, as applicable.
We may need to verify your identity and the information involved before processing a request.
7. Messages, Group Chats, and Birthday Wishes
Birthday Button allows registered members to communicate through direct messages, group conversations, and birthday wishes.
Any registered member may initiate a private message to another registered member without first becoming friends.
This applies to members with both public and private profiles.
Messages and attachments are processed to deliver communications and maintain the Services.
Messages are generally accessible to their intended recipients and conversation participants. Group conversations may be visible to the members of those groups.
Birthday Button may review reported communications when necessary to investigate misuse, enforce platform rules, protect users, or comply with legal obligations.
Birthday Button currently offers member reporting but does not offer individual member blocking.
Members should exercise care when sharing personal or sensitive information with others.
8. Photos and User-Generated Content
Members may upload photographs and other images for profiles, conversations, and birthday events.
We process uploaded content to store, display, and deliver it through the relevant features.
The audience for uploaded content depends on where it is shared and the applicable privacy settings.
Content shared with other members may remain accessible to recipients even after the original member deletes their account.
Members should only upload content they have the right to share and should respect the privacy of other individuals.
9. Location Information
Birthday Button allows members to manually enter location information, such as their city, state, and country.
We use this information to support location-related discovery, relevant birthday events, and connections between members.
Birthday Button does not currently request precise GPS location through device location services for these features.
However, technical information such as an IP address may indicate an approximate geographic location.
Manually entered location information may be visible through profile and discovery features, subject to applicable privacy settings.
10. Birthday Reminders and Push Notifications
Birthday Button sends push notifications for features such as upcoming birthdays, birthday reminders, messages, birthday wishes, group activity, and event updates.
To deliver notifications, we may process device notification tokens and related technical information through notification service providers.
Members can manage push notification permissions through their device settings.
Disabling push notifications does not prevent members from using the core features of Birthday Button.
Important account and security communications may still be delivered through email or other available channels.
11. Google Analytics
Birthday Button uses Google Analytics within its mobile application to understand app usage, monitor performance, identify technical issues, and improve functionality.
Depending on the implementation and configuration, analytics information may include:
- Screens viewed and app interactions
- Session and engagement information
- Device and operating system information
- Approximate geographic information
- Analytics identifiers and diagnostic data
Google may process this information in connection with providing analytics services.
Birthday Button does not currently use Google Analytics on its website.

Where required, we will provide appropriate notices, consent mechanisms, or other privacy choices concerning analytics.
12. Advertising
Birthday Button does not currently use third-party advertising networks to display advertisements within its Services.
We may introduce advertising features in the future.
Before introducing advertising technologies that involve additional collection, sharing, or processing of personal information, we will update this Privacy Policy and implement applicable notice, consent, and privacy-choice requirements.
Additional protections may apply to advertising involving members aged 16 or 17.
13. How We Share Personal Information
We may disclose personal information in the following circumstances.
Other Members: Information may be displayed or shared through profiles, Birthday Twin discovery, messages, group conversations, events, and other social features, as described in this policy.
Service Providers: We may use providers that support hosting, data storage, analytics, notifications, technical infrastructure, security, and other operational functions. These providers may process information on our behalf.
Legal and Safety Purposes: We may disclose information when required by applicable law or when reasonably necessary to investigate misuse, respond to lawful requests, or protect rights and safety.
Business Transactions: Information may be transferred in connection with a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or sale of business assets, subject to applicable law.
At Your Direction: We may share information when you authorize or initiate a particular disclosure.
14. Community Safety and Reporting
Birthday Button provides tools for reporting members, content, and interactions that may violate platform rules or create safety concerns.
When a report is submitted, we may process information about the reporting member, reported account, relevant content, and the circumstances of the report.
Depending on the findings, Birthday Button may remove content, restrict functionality, suspend accounts, or terminate access.
Birthday Button does not currently provide a blocking feature.
We encourage members to report harassment, threats, inappropriate communications, impersonation, and other potentially harmful behavior.
15. Age Requirements and Protection of Minors
Birthday Button is intended for individuals aged 16 and older.
Individuals under 16 are not permitted to create accounts or be added to saved birthday lists.
We use the dates of birth entered during registration and when adding saved birthdays to determine whether individuals meet the minimum age requirement.
These checks rely on the accuracy of the information provided and do not independently verify identity or age.
If we become aware that an account or saved birthday violates our minimum age requirement, we may remove the information or account and take other appropriate steps.
Additional protections and legal requirements may apply to members aged 16 and 17 depending on their jurisdiction.
Parents, guardians, or other individuals with concerns about information relating to minors may contact support@birthdaybutton.com.
16. Account Deletion
Members can delete their Birthday Button accounts directly within the mobile application.
When account deletion is confirmed, Birthday Button immediately removes the account and associated account information from its active systems.
Previously sent messages remain visible to recipients in existing private and group conversations.
Information may also remain temporarily in backups or be retained where required or permitted by law, including for security, dispute resolution, and legal compliance.
Information that other members have independently saved or shared may not be removed solely because another account has been deleted.
Account deletion is permanent.
17. Data Retention
We retain personal information for as long as necessary to provide the Services and fulfill the purposes described in this Privacy Policy, subject to applicable legal requirements.
Retention periods depend on the type of information, the relevant feature, and whether the information remains necessary for operational, security, or legal purposes.
Account information is removed from active systems when a member confirms account deletion, subject to the exceptions described above.
Shared messages may remain in recipients' conversation histories.
When information is no longer needed, we will delete, deidentify, or otherwise handle it in accordance with applicable law.
18. Data Security
Birthday Button uses reasonable administrative, technical, and organizational measures designed to protect personal information from unauthorized access, alteration, disclosure, and loss.
However, no website, mobile application, or electronic storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
Members are responsible for protecting their account credentials and should contact us if they suspect unauthorized account activity.
19. Your Privacy Rights
Depending on where you live, applicable privacy laws may provide rights concerning your personal information, including the right to:
- Access information held about you.
- Request correction of inaccurate information.
- Request deletion of personal information.
- Receive certain information in a portable format.
- Object to or restrict certain processing activities.
- Withdraw consent where processing relies on consent.
- Exercise applicable rights concerning automated processing or data sharing.
- Appeal certain privacy-request decisions or complain to a relevant supervisory authority, where permitted.
These rights may be subject to legal exceptions and verification requirements.

We will review requests and respond within the timeframes required by applicable law.

Birthday Button is available to users worldwide.
Personal information may be processed in the United States or other countries where our service providers operate.
Data protection laws may differ between jurisdictions.
Where required by applicable law, we will use appropriate safeguards for international transfers of personal information.
Individuals in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Brazil, and other jurisdictions may have additional rights under applicable data protection laws.
21. Cookies and Similar Technologies
Birthday Button's website may use technologies necessary for website operation, security, and functionality.
Our mobile application uses analytics and technical identifiers as described in this Privacy Policy.
If we introduce additional cookies, tracking technologies, or advertising tools, we will update our disclosures and provide any required choices or consent mechanisms.
